Mountain adventures, powder
and après-ski you don’t want to miss

Dreaming of powder snow, breathtaking views and après-ski you’ll never forget?
Hemsedal is not just a ski resort – it’s a lifestyle. Start your day watching the sunrise from the mountain top, enjoy more than 50 slopes, try new activities in the afternoon, and end the day soaking in a heated pool under the starry sky. A ski holiday in Hemsedal is about more than skiing – it’s about freedom, achievement, and sharing the moment with the people you love.

Alpine skiing at its best
Known as the “Scandinavian Alps”, Hemsedal truly lives up to its name. Here you’ll find slopes for every level – from gentle beginner areas and wide blue runs to steep black pistes that burn your thighs. Hemsedal Ski Resort is linked together with modern lifts, so you can ski from top to bottom without ever unclipping your skis. Families will love Solheisen in Grøndalen – a quieter area with plenty of sunshine and fun parks. For thrill-seekers, Hemsedal’s terrain park is among the very best in Norway.
SkiStar Hemsedal offers more than 50 slopes and 20+ lifts for every level.

Ski touring and off-piste for adventurers
Ski touring and off-piste in Hemsedal can deliver the wildest mountain experiences – but they are also demanding and risky. You must have the right knowledge, equipment and respect for the mountains. We always recommend taking an avalanche course, going with a guide, and carrying avalanche gear (transceiver, shovel and probe) – and knowing how to use it. Off-piste and ski touring are not for everyone. For beginners, Slettind is a good introductory peak, but even here, safety rules apply. Remember: the mountains will still be there tomorrow – it’s always better to turn back than to take chances.
Classics such as Nibbi and Svarthetta reward you with spectacular views.
Off-piste terrain in varying levels of difficulty makes Hemsedal a favourite among advanced skiers.
Always check avalanche forecasts and consider hiring a guide.

Cross-country skiing with a view
Cross-country skiing in Hemsedal combines fresh mountain air with stunning scenery. With more than 250 km of groomed trails, you’ll find everything from relaxed family tracks to challenging training loops. At Gravset stadium, you’ll get snow-sure conditions for both classic and skating, and from week 6 the high-mountain trails open, winding their way towards majestic peaks.
