Hemsedalsviku
Hemsedalsviku is a 9-day celebration of local pride, nature, culture and community spirit – from Friday 5 to Sunday 14 September 2025. The whole village comes together for a festival filled with markets, music, mountain adventures and cosy moments for all ages. Come join the magic in the mountains!
What is Hemsedalsviku?
A yearly event that celebrates everything Hemsedal – the people, the stories, the nature and the vibes.
The core values? Inclusion, belonging, pride in local identity, heritage and community engagement.
Each day brings something new – from concerts and craft markets to guided hikes and history walks. Some events are chilled, some are active – all of them packed with heart.

Friday 5 Sept
- Extended opening hours – local shops (10:00–18:00)
- “Sommerles” celebration at the library (14:00–15:00)
- Soapbox car workshop – build your ride for the FYRI GRAND PRIX! (15:00–18:00)
- Youth club night at Hugnadheim (19:00–23:00), for ages 13–18
Saturday 6 Sept
- Chairlift open at SkiStar – for hikes, views and autumn air (10:00–16:00)
- Autumn market – food, crafts, clothes and big pre-season sales (10:00–16:00)
- Evening concert – Marthe Wang in Hemsedal Church (19:30–20:30)

Sunday 7 Sept
- Get Out Day: Guided hike Fjellstølen → Hulbak (10:00–15:00)
Easy/moderate hike, 9 km with transport. Bring lunch & outdoor gear. - Shops open (11:00–16:00)
- Second-hand market – buy & sell treasures (11:00–15:00)
Monday 8 – Sunday 14 Sept
- Open heritage farm – Hemsedal Bygdatun (11:00–15:00)
- Open church – Hemsedal Church (12:00–18:00, Mon–Sat)
