The next generation of freeride talent gathers in Hemsedal as Solheisen Freeride Qualifier brings together skiers and snowboarders for an action-packed competition weekend in steep and playful mountain terrain. With valuable FWT points at stake, line choice, flow and creativity will determine who rises to the top.
Solheisen Freeride Qualifier 2026
20–22 March | Solheisen, Hemsedal
Solheisen Freeride Qualifier is part of the international Freeride World Tour Qualifier series, where riders compete for ranking points and the opportunity to progress within the FWT system. The competition follows the classic freeride format, with athletes choosing their own lines down a natural mountain face and being judged on criteria such as line choice, fluidity, control, technique and style.
The event brings together both national and international skiers and snowboarders for a weekend of powerful riding, big lines and authentic freeride atmosphere in Solheisen. The final competition day and number of runs will be determined according to weather and snow conditions.

Junior competition
Alongside the qualifier event, Solheisen Freeride Junior will take place during the same weekend, bringing together the next generation of freeride skiers and snowboarders. Young riders will compete in a classic freeride format, gaining valuable competition experience while showcasing their skills, creativity and line choices in the natural mountain terrain of Solheisen. The junior event is part of the official junior freeride competition structure and highlights the future stars of the sport.
