What is the Fjellheisen toboggan run?
It’s a fun, fast evening activity where you ride a Stiga Snowracer down a 1 km slope with headlamps. The run has a vertical drop of 160 metres, and you can do as many laps as you like within one hour.
How long does the activity take?
Around 1 hour of tobogganing, and a total of 1.5–2 hours including lift rides and briefing.
How many times can I go?
As many as you want within the 1-hour tobogganing window.
Is this the same as the Top-to-Bottom run?
No. This is the shorter Fjellheisen evening activity (1 km).
If you want an even bigger experience, check out Top-to-Bottom Tobogganing: nearly 4 km and 630 vertical metres — one of Norway’s longest sledding runs.
Is the lift pass included?
Yes, the price includes both the lift pass and the Snowracer rental.
Can children ride alone?
Children under 10 must ride together with an adult.
Where is the meeting point?
At the bottom of the Lodgen Express lift (6-seater chairlift). Look for the “Tobogganing Meeting Point” signs.
What should I wear?
Warm winter clothing, sturdy winter shoes and gloves. A helmet and ski goggles are recommended (and can be borrowed if needed).
Can I wear ski boots?
No. Ski boots are not allowed for safety reasons.
How do I book?
Book at bookhemsedal.no by 12:00 on the same day.
Is it possible to organise private group sessions?
Yes. Additional dates and private evenings can be arranged for groups.
When does it run during the season?
Times vary with lift opening hours and change throughout the winter. See the seasonal schedule for exact dates and times.
Is it safe?
Yes, but it is a fast activity. You receive full instructions beforehand, and the route is prepared for safe evening sledding.
Do I need skiing experience?
No. Tobogganing is suitable for anyone comfortable being outdoors in winter.
Can I join if I don’t have a headlamp?
Headlamps are provided or built into the equipment, depending on the setup that day.
