Waffles at Fjellkafeen

Waffles in and around the ski resort

You can easily plan a full day of waffle stops – from top to bottom.

Fjellkafeen
Start at the top and enjoy a waffle with panoramic views. The perfect break before heading downhill again.

Skigaarden coffee bar
Right in the middle of the slopes, with a cosy atmosphere and great vibes. Waffles taste even better here.

Slopestyle Kitchen
Next to the park – possibly Hemsedal’s coolest waffle spot. Sit in the sun and watch tricks while you eat.

Skarsnuten hotel
Take the scenic two-seater lift up and land on a terrace overlooking the entire valley. Waffle + view = hard to beat.

Hollvin restaurant & Skistua restaurant
At the base of the resort. The perfect way to round off a day on the slopes.

Waffles at Lodgen Spiseri

Waffles for the whole family

Lodgen Spiseri (children’s area)
Here, waffles are taken to a whole new level.

Go classic with brown cheese and jam – or try something more playful:

  • Strawberry Non-Stop with soft serve ice cream
  • Caramel Fudge with soft serve ice cream

The waffles look as good as they taste – and everyone will find a favourite.

Waffles in Solheisen

Cross-country + waffles = a perfect match

Some of the best waffle experiences in Hemsedal are the ones you have to work a little for.
And that’s exactly why they taste so good.

Flævasshytta (Holdeskaret)

Located at over 1,000 metres above sea level, right along the cross-country trails.
Here you’ll find freshly made waffles served with brown cheese or jam – just what you need for a well-earned break.

Open on weekends and during holiday periods throughout the winter season.

Solheisen (Grøndalen)

A hidden gem in Grøndalen – and a stop worth the trip in itself.

Waffles here are made using a traditional family recipe.
Jørgen Heie, who runs Solheisen, continues to use his grandmother’s original recipe.

And in the kitchen, Babs is busy baking – serving warm, freshly made waffles just when you need them most.

That might be why they taste a little extra special here.

Waffle + sun + mountains = hard to beat.

Lapper at Flatbrødbakeriet

Not just waffles…

Flatbrødbakeriet at Tuv
Here you won’t find waffles – but you will find lapper (small Norwegian pancakes).

Soft, warm and simply irresistible.
Let’s just say they definitely belong on a wafflecation.

Waffles over the fire

Waffles outdoors – next level

Some of the best waffle moments in Hemsedal don’t happen in a café.

They happen outdoors.
In the mountains. With views in every direction.

And sometimes… over an open fire.

Create your own wafflecation

  • Bring waffles in your backpack
or go all in: pack a waffle iron and batter (and don’t forget butter or oil)
  • Light a fire where permitted
  • Wait until you have glowing embers
  • Bake waffles outdoors

The result?
Crispy, warm waffles – and a break you’ll actually remember.
