35,000 Rides –
And We’re Just Getting Started

A Record-Breaking Cycling Summer
Hemsedal’s investment in cycling has truly taken off. This summer, 13,800 riders were carried up the mountain by the SkiStar Hemsedal chairlift – and over 35,000 rides were completed in Hemsedal Rides.
“And if we add everyone who pedals up when the lift is closed, or those who zoom back up on e-bikes for a few extra laps, we’re talking at least 30% more,” says Anneli Rosberg Vøllo, Cycling Project Manager at Destinasjon Hemsedal.
Quite simply: it’s massive.
“Cycling has become the engine of our summer season, together with hiking.” Anneli adds.
Hemsedal Rides Has Brought the Mountain to Life
Bike rental is buzzing from morning till evening, the food and drink offering at the ski centre has levelled up, and guests stay longer – and keep coming back. Across Hallingdal you’ll also find fantastic biking, and together it has become a major asset for the whole region.
People simply want to ride in Hemsedal.
We see everything from small daredevils in Tottelia Bike Park to adventure-hungry riders testing every trail in Hemsedal Rides. Alongside the lift-served riders are all those exploring Tottelia on their own, plus gravel enthusiasts roaming the valley from dawn to dusk.
A Summer That Brings Energy to the Village
All of this adds pulse to the community, strength to local businesses, and a summer experience that’s here to stay.
See you for cycling season 2026!
