Hemsedal Up N' Down
Raw speed, team spirit and pure ski joy

Hemsedal Up N’ Down returns on 7 March 2026 for the 11th time.
What is Hemsedal Up N’ Down?
Hemsedal Up N’ Down is a team competition for 2–3 people, where you compete either in the Racing Class (women, men or mixed) or the Hyggeklassen, where you can be as many teammates as you like. The average time of the team is what counts – so skiing smart, fast and consistent is key.
Timing only takes place while you are skiing, between the lifts. Lift up, get into position – then full throttle straight down. Simple in theory, tough on the legs in practice. Expect a proper thigh-burner.
The event suits most skill levels, but remember: you are responsible for being fit enough to take part.
Two classes – same format, different ambitions
In the Hyggeklassen, Hemsedal Up N’ Down is all about ski joy. You race because it’s fun to challenge yourself, feel progression and share the experience with friends. The pace is optional, the smiles are mandatory, and team spirit is what matters most.
In the Racing Class, things get more serious. This is where teams line up with their eyes on the podium, hundredths of a second in focus and ambitions of being among the fastest. Competition takes place in women’s, men’s and mixed classes, and the three fastest teams in each category walk away with prizes, honour and glory.
Race day – Saturday 7 March
The race starts at 07:30 by the Roni lift, with the finish line at Skistua Hemsedal. Racing wraps up around 09:00 – but the day is far from over.
Programme – highlights:

07:15: Meet-up at the start

From 22:00: Night Club at Stavkroa with Julie Bergan (separate ticket required)

Friday: speed test and warm-up
Friday is all about finding the flow – and that tucked position straight down the slope:
11:00–14:00: Speed test in Røggeløypa (slope 15)
12:00–20:00: Bib numbers and timing chips available at Anton Sport
A perfect opportunity to test your form, fine-tune your equipment and build excitement before race day.
