Hemsedal joins new AI initiative for Norwegian tourism
Hemsedal is part of a national initiative through Norwegian Travel Cluster, where 29 destination companies from across Norway have entered into a partnership with Mindtrip – an international AI platform for travel planning.
The aim is to make it easier for travellers to discover Norwegian experiences, get local recommendations and plan their trips in a smarter, more intuitive way.
When travel planning starts with a question
The way people search for inspiration and plan their holidays is changing. More travellers are using AI to explore destinations, activities, accommodation and experiences – and they expect fast, relevant and personalised answers.
Through the collaboration with Mindtrip, Norwegian destinations will be able to test new ways of meeting that shift. Travellers can ask questions, get tailored suggestions, explore content on a map and build itineraries based on information and local knowledge from the destinations themselves.
For Hemsedal, this is about being present where guests are actually planning their trip – and making sure they find content that is useful, inspiring and true to the experiences we offer here in the mountains.
What does this mean for travellers heading to Hemsedal?
In short: it should become easier to plan a trip here.
With an AI-powered travel planner, guests can more easily find the experiences that suit them – whether they are looking for a family holiday, a biking weekend, ski adventures, mountain hikes or simply a few days of fresh air and time outdoors.
The solution can help travellers:
- find activities and experiences based on their interests
- get suggestions for stays, day plans and itineraries
- explore accommodation, food and experiences on a map
- discover more sides of Hemsedal – and maybe find something they didn’t know they were looking for
Part of a bigger shift
The initiative is part of Norwegian Travel Cluster’s work to help Norwegian destinations prepare for a more AI-driven travel landscape. Together, the 29 destinations will test new digital solutions, share knowledge and build expertise around how AI is changing the way people search, plan and choose where to travel.
All destinations in the project are also part of the Sustainable Destination label in Norway. That means the development of new solutions is rooted in a shared ambition to highlight local experiences, support better choices and contribute to more sustainable travel planning.
For Hemsedal, this is an opportunity to learn, test and keep developing – while making it easier for more people to discover everything the mountains have to offer.
Hemsedal is part of what comes next
Travel is changing, and so is the way people find their next destination. As new search habits and digital tools become a bigger part of trip planning, Hemsedal wants to be where that happens.
We will keep doing what we do best: inspiring people to get out into the mountains. Now we also have new tools to help them find their way there.
