Hydalen offers wild nature, steep mountains and stunning waterfalls. E-bike is recommended. Along the trip you will pass Harahorn Hotel, where they offer refreshments (https://www.harahorn.no/) and the possibility to charge your E-bike. Further in you will pass the Top20 peaks Harahorn, Ranastøngji and the short hike to Hydalshjallen viewpoint (only for hiking, not biking). Vavatn is the name of the lake on your left handside down to the valley. Fishing permit can be bought at the parking lot. Biking down the gravel road you will pass Hydalsvatnet on your right. Fishing permit can be bought by the parking at the end of the road.

With this trip you will get to experience amazing lakes, mountains and especially if you take on the hike up to Hydalshjallen, you will be met with an astonishing view of the valley of Hydalen.

The trip carries you through Hydalen with varied terrain and a beautiful scenery.

Author's advice

It is recommended to stop by Harahorn, as well as taking the hike up to one of the Topp20 mountains the trip has to offer.

Another strong recommendation is to take on the hike up to Hydalshjallen.

Equipment

It is strongly recommended to use a helmet, and equipment depending on the weather.

Safety information

Remember a bicycle helmet and a water bottle on a warm day :)

Directions

Go west towards Tuv. In the crossing before the bridge make a right towards Grøndalen and follow the road until you see the sign “Hydalsvegen”. If you wish to make the bike trip shorter (and with less of a climb) you can drive up Hydalsvegen and park by Vavatn parking (toll road).

Parking

Parking is available by the parking at Fjellstølane or at Vavatn.
