Author's advice
Catch the old dance site on the way up to Buaklanten.
On the way up to Holdeskaret, you drive along Hemsedal ski center and you can also stop by Skarsnuten hotel for an even better view over the area, from their nice outdoor terrace.
Top 20 peak Røggjin starts from the same parking lot but goes in the opposite direction to the mountain peak on the other side. This route is more demanding (graded red).
Turn-by-turn directions
The route starts from Holdeskaret parking and from there you follow a gravel road. After about 1 km, follow the marked fine trail to Buaklanten. The trail has some crossings over small stream beds. You follow the same trail back to the parking lot (alt. follow one of the other stone paths downwards, which ends roughly at the same place).
Safety information
During Lemmen years the water is not safe to drink.
Directions
Follow Rv 52 west for about 2 km. Turn towards Hemsedal Ski Center and drive right just after the bridge.
