Dialect Camp at Snertestølen – Have Fun with the Halling Dialect!

From 12 to 15 July, a Dialect Camp will be held at Snertestølen in Hemsedal for children in grades 3 to 8. The camp has space for 20 participants, and the fee is NOK 1,600, including activities, meals, and accommodation.

The aim of the camp is to encourage children and young people to learn and use the Halling dialect through games, activities, and authentic mountain farm life. Participants will take part in animal care, singing, dancing, storytelling, and a variety of outdoor activities.

Each day, experienced dialect instructors teach the Halling dialect through hands-on activities such as outdoor life, traditional crafts, folk singing, and other local traditions. This allows children to learn the dialect in a fun and natural way.

The camp is organised by Snertehaugen Mjølk & Musikk in collaboration with the local language associations in Hallingdal. On Wednesday, 15 July, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, there will be an open cultural evening where everyone is welcome.

The Dialect Camp offers children a unique opportunity to learn more about the Halling dialect, make new friends, and experience traditional mountain farm life in beautiful surroundings.
