How to get there

from the town centre drive east towards Ulsåk and make a left on Lykkjavegen by the Kiwi supermarket. Follow the road until you reach Trefta parking or alternatively Hestanåne parking.

Parking

Park either by the Trefta parking lot, which is the same parking that is used for climbing Skogshødn, or Hestanåne parking.

Safety

Watch out for larger rocks in the path, and make sure to keep your dogs on leeches so that they do not scare the grazing animals.

Tip

Take advantage of all the opportunities lykkja has to offer. Go swimming, fishing, canoeing, or moutain hiking.

Description

This is a demanding path which is about 4km long. You'll get a great view towards Tisleia and Skogshødn (red) starting from Trefta. We reccomend riding the route clockwise to finish the day with a refreshing swim in Grytevatnet. From the path Blomeslettan-Nøreli theres a hike to Vihovda.
The area around Storevatnet is a beautiful place where you can fish, swim or go canoeing. You might meet grazing animals, local farmers or other hikers. It's also possible to combine this roundtrip with other biking tours, either south towards Golsfjellet or further into Lykkja.

Bring your swim gear, fishing rod, enough food and drinks so that you have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature and cultural landscape for the whole day if you so feel like it. There's other small lakes nearby that you may also swim or fish in, although Grytetjernet is known for having the warmest water in Hemsedal.
