Cross-country ski bus to Bjøberg: Take the bus up – ski back down

The bus runs on Saturdays from mid-February to late April, with additional departures during the winter holidays and Easter. The trip is perfect for anyone looking for a full day in groomed trails – without the logistics hassle.

Departure times 2026

Saturdays

  • Every Saturday from 21 February to 25 April

  • Departure Hemsedal town centre (Trøim) at 10:00

  • Tuv at 10:10

  • Arrival Bjøberg at 10:30

Additional departures during the winter holidays

  • Monday 16 and 23 February

  • Wednesday 18 and 25 February

  • Departure at 10:00

Additional Easter departures will be announced later.

Tickets and booking

  • Advance booking is recommended – the bus only runs if bookings have been made

  • Booking deadline: 18:00 the day before departure

  • Tickets can be purchased at vybuss.no (search from Hemsedal Sentrum to Hemsedal (Bjøberg)), in the Vy app, or on board

  • If the service is cancelled due to weather or conditions, passengers will be notified by SMS and refunded

  • Card payment is available on board, but without advance bookings the departure may be cancelled

  • Dogs are allowed on the bus

Suggested ski routes from Bjøberg

From Bjøberg, groomed high-mountain trails offer several route options back towards the valley:

  • Bjøberg – Bulien – Tuv: approx. 19.3 km

  • Bjøberg – Lio – Tuv: approx. 21.2 km

  • Tuv – Trøym: approx. 6.5 km along the south side of the river

The trip is self-guided and undertaken at your own responsibility. Parts of the trails cross high-mountain terrain where weather conditions can change quickly. Bring a map, extra clothing, food and necessary safety equipment – even for shorter tours.

Tip: More ways to start your ski tour

  • The express bus VY170 has daily departures to Bjøberg

  • The ski bus can be taken to Skigaarden, with access to the Beihovd trail, Flævasshytta and Systerskaret

  • You can also take the ski bus to Tuv or the Ulsåk area and ski back to the town centre
