Earth Hour in Hemsedal church

For one hour, the lights go out around the world. In Hemsedal Church, we mark Earth Hour with a unique organ concert – played without electricity, but full of atmosphere.
Earth Hour Concert in Hemsedal Church
On Saturday 28 March at 20:30, millions of people across the world will switch off their lights for Earth Hour – a global moment to show support for nature and the climate.
Cities, towns and landmarks across the globe will go dark. From the Sydney Opera House and the Eiffel Tower to Niagara Falls and the Empire State Building, the lights are turned off as a symbol of what can happen when many small actions come together.
In Hemsedal, we mark this hour in our own way.
At 20:30 the lights inside Hemsedal Church will be turned off. At the same time, the electric motor of the church organ will be switched off as well. The result is a very special organ concert – performed without electricity.
Just air, craftsmanship and music filling the church.
Take a moment, step inside the quiet and let the music carry the hour.
One hour for the planet. One hour to reflect.
