Talk - Who runs our feed

Kven styrer

Who decides what you see in your feed – and why? As algorithms and artificial intelligence increasingly shape our everyday lives, Hemsedal Library invites you to an insightful talk with author and journalist Bår Stenvik.

What actually happens to us when more and more of life takes place on screens? How do algorithms, social media and artificial intelligence influence what we see, think and share? And how can we become more aware and critical in a digital world that never slows down?

On Tuesday 10 February, Hemsedal Library invites you to a lecture with Bår Stenvik, an author and journalist with deep insight into technology and digital power structures.

Technology that shapes people and society

Bår Stenvik has long explored how technology affects both individuals and society. He is the author of the books The Big Game and Who Controls My Feed?, where he examines how digital platforms influence our choices, opinions and everyday behaviour.

In this talk, he looks behind the screen and explains how technology is not just a tool, but an active force shaping modern life.

This evening you will learn about

  • how technology and algorithms influence people and society

  • the opportunities and challenges linked to artificial intelligence and social media

  • how we can become more critical and conscious users in a digital world

The lecture is accessible, thought-provoking and relevant for anyone who uses social media – whether you are curious, concerned or simply want to understand more of what is happening behind the scenes.

Part of Literary Preparedness in an Unsettled Time

The event is part of the project Literary Preparedness in an Unsettled Time, supported by Fritt Ord. This is the first event in the series.
