Images
Hemsilstigen is an easy and beautiful walking path for anyone who wants to take a walk in flat terrain. In winter the path is not plowed, but many people walk here so it is usually fine. Halfway along the path you have a suspension bridge over Hemsila and here you can optionally continue on Fiskumstigen.
When you reach the end of the path, at the waterworks, you can follow the gravel road up to the main road and walk the sidewalk back to the center again.
Author's advice
Halfway along the path you reach Solstad suspension bridge, here you can continue the walk across to the other side and take either Fiskumstigen or Gronåsstigen. If you choose Fiskumstigen, you can return back to the center again. If you choose Gronåsstigen, you walk up to Gronåsen and arrive back at Hemsilstigen at the Krikken waterworks.
Turn-by-turn directions
The path starts behind the fire station in Hemsedal. Here is a wide and nice path also suitable for strollers and more stable wheelchairs.
The walk goes along Hemsila and after a few hundred meters you enter a forest area, here it becomes a nature trail with roots, and it continues like this all the way to the Krikken waterworks where you turn and walk the same way back.
Safety information
Remember there are grazing animals and many roe deer in the area, keep your dog on a leash.
