Trøimsbotn - Hiking trail from Hemsedal Trøym
Route that starts in Hemsedal center and takes you to Trøimsbotten. This is a gorgeous hike alongside Trøimsåne and into the valley.

An Idyllic hike which climbs in parallell with a beautiful mountain river between the mighty peaks Kyrkjebønnøse and Skurvefjell. The hike starts off quite steep but flattens out towards the end once you get out of the forest. This is a great hike for those who want to explore the mountains to the north of Hemsedal, yet aren't quite ready to climb Kyrkjebønnøses 900 meters of elevation. On your way up the path, there's also opportunities to do detours down to river for those days when the sun is coming down too hot and you need to cool off, or if you just want to have a breather by the beautiful river.
There are several ways to combine this hike with other paths and routes. You might want to have a longer walk and go further into the mountains either around Kyrkjebønnøse or Skogshorn, although these routes are unmarked and you'll need a map and compass to navigate them. Alternatively one could cross the river, descending on the opposite side of it, for a complete tour of Trøymsbotn.

You could turn this route into a roundtrip by crossing the river at the apex of the hike and returning on the opposite side of the river,
Turn-by-turn directions
The route starts of by Hemsedal tourist office and follows the road northbound until the footpath starts by Kven farm. The path leads you to the river Trøymsåne until it starts elevating quite steeply up along the river. The path follows the river all the way to Trøymsbotn where you can either choose your route further into the mountains or walk back down the same way.
