Description

The hike starts off on a trail that slowly winds its way up the mountain, with an amazing walk along the ridge until you reach the peak on 1581 masl. Up here the view is spectacular with a 360-degree view of the area.  There are several places where you can have a coffee break around the peak area, and just take a moment to relax and enjoy the view -  after all, that's what it's all about!

This hike is intermediate and suits hikers that are a bit experienced but also families with kids who have been on a mountain hike before.

The whole area around lake Vavatn is very impressive. This is an old summer farm area where the farmers from Grøndalen went fishing during the summertime. As in the rest of Hemsedal, this is an area where you'll probably meet or see free-grazing cattle, so keep your dog on a leash!  Remember to take all your garbage with you down again. During the summer you also might see reindeers on your hike here.
