Description
Are you up for a long and scenic hike to the top of Hemsedal? Then the Topp20 hike to Høgeloft is the right choice for you. For this hike, we recommend bringing a map and compass, just in case you get lost.
The hike starts off at Eldrevatn on 1120 masl. The first section follows a gravel road, an option is to bring a bike for this part. The hike also crosses country borders so you walk in both Lærdal and Hemsedal. The marking is not the best, which is why you should bring a map and compass.
After 3km on the gravel road, you follow the trail leading up to the mountain, starting just before a small stream. From here you look for the cairns markings leading you to the top. The terrain is quite rocky so sturdy shoes and hiking poles can come in handy.
When reaching the top you will have panoramic views of Jotunheimen and Hemsedal. You should be able to spot Buaknuppen, Svarthetta and Kyrkjebønnøse.
