Where to dispose of your waste in Hemsedal

Adobe Stock 155251493

Hemsedal is all about clean air, open landscapes and a mountain feeling you don’t want to mess up. To keep it that way, it’s important that both locals, cabin owners and visiting guests know where to dispose of their waste. Here’s the simple guide.

Hallingdal Renovasjon

Staying in a hotel or apartment?

Most accommodation providers have their own waste rooms or sorting stations. Follow the signs where you stay – and ask at reception if you’re unsure. Please sort your waste before throwing it away. On HallingdalRenovasjon.no can you see a map over recycling points and more info.

Staying in a cabin without private bins?

If your cabin does not have its own waste collection, you should use the local recycling points (returpunkter) for everyday waste, or deliver larger waste at Langeset Recycling Station.

Important: Large bags of unsorted waste, electronics, furniture, building materials or garden waste must not be left at the recycling points. These items go to Langeset.

Recycling points (for cabins and short-term visitors)

Most recycling points offer:

  • General waste

  • Paper and cardboard

  • Glass and metal packaging

  • Plastic (selected locations)

You’ll find recycling points at:

  • Ulsåk

  • Hemsedal town centre

  • The ski resort area (e.g. Skigaarden / Hemsedal Skisenter)

  • Tuv

  • Grøndalen

Signposts will guide you.

Langeset Recycling Station

This is where you bring anything that doesn’t belong in the everyday bins.

Address: Torsetstølvegen 47, Hemsedal
Open: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (reduced hours in winter)

You can deliver:

  • Electrical and electronic waste

  • Furniture and larger items

  • Metal, gypsum, wood and building materials

Langeset is for household waste only – not commercial waste.
