Tip
Description
This is one of our most popular hikes that is suitable for the whole family. The smaller kids will be best off in a hiking backpack as the first bit of the trail from the parking lot is quite steep. The area is very scenic and there are many "secret" spots to discover along the way. You are almost guaranteed to meet sheep along the path, so please don't scare them and keep your dog on a leash. The walk can be done as a circular, return or point to point route. If you chose to walk point to point you can decent to Hemsedal Centre through Skyrvedalen.
If you like fishing, there is a lake on the top that is located next to the path. The lake is the top of Hydnefossen which is a waterfall with a vertical drop of 140m and one of the highest in Norway. You can also find climbing and bouldering routes in the area.
If you are looking for some more hiking, I'll recommend you to combine this hike with the hike to Storehødn which is a bit more difficult but still an intermediate hike.
