Winter
Winter

The Vavatn trails are marked high mountain trails on the east side of Vavatn. Fantastic area and possibilities for short and long trips. Along the lake, the trail runs on the summer road and is relatively flat. There are also branches from this that go through more rugged terrain.

Author's advice

Take the Solheisen lift up to the Vavatn trails. See Solheisen's opening hours at solheisen.no.

Equipment

  • Mountain skis are recommended.
  • Extra clothes, food and drink.

Directions

Note that in winter the winter road up Grosetlie must be used as Hydalsvegen is closed for the winter.

From the center, follow Rv52 about 4.6 km towards Tuv. Turn right towards Grøndalen. Just after Solheisen, turn right up Grosetlie. Toll road, card payment.

It is also possible to use the ski lift at Solheisen up to the trails.

Parking at Oset when you arrive at Vavatn, or at Solheisen if you use the lift.
