Bjøbergnøse/Bjobergnose - Topp20 Hemsedal
Hike in the land of the reindeer at Bjøberg. This is a moderate hike that suits the most. At the top, you will find beautiful views of the valley Mørkedalen and Bulien.
How to get there
From the tourist office take road 52, for 24,3 km westwards to Bjøberg. Park at the road station just before Bjøberg Høgfjellsgard. The walk starts on the right side of the road. Follow the signs and indications from the roadside station. Almost halfway, the path turns sharply to the left and then follows the ridge up to the peak.
Parking is by the main road in the parking pockets.
Bring drinks and snacks for the hike.
Take your time and enjoy the view from the top. There are also some alternative paths to follow that have been trampled by sheep grazing in the area.
This hike starts by following the old Kings Road, a gravel road that used to be the postal route between Oslo and Bergen. After a few hundred meters turn left towards Bulien (the valley on the other side of the mountain). Then you will turn left again climbing the mountain towards Bjøbergnøse. The hike is very scenic and suits most adults and kids who are used to hiking.
From the top, the view is very scenic and you have a fantastic view over Hestbottfjellet, Mørkedalen and Bulien.
There are many alternatives for hiking in this area, if you are up for a longer hike, continue the path towards Bulien or up to the lakes of Ershovdtjernane.
Bjøberg Høyfjellsgard (mountain farm) is the highest working farm above sea level in Norway. Bjøberg also engages in reindeer husband and at certain seasons you will find many reindeer in the area.
