A nice walk through the forest for the whole family with great views at the top.
Venåshøvda 773 - 988 m
There are two different ways to reach the top of Venåshøvda.
The most suitable for families with kids is if you park at the parking lot in Lio and start the hike on the gravel road and continue on a path through the forest. The view at the top is georgeous. This is an easy hike, 200 m vertical and about 2.5 km one way. The trip is estimated to 2 hours.
Option number two is a bit steeper and shorter. Park along the main road and follow "Kongevegen" the first bit, after that, the marked trail will take you to the top.
An easy hike that is suitable for kids and families. You will be surrounded by farms and free grazing cattle. This hike can be both a return or a round trip (harder).
How to get there
Drive towards Tuv. Continue on Rv 52 for 4 km after Tuv. Turn to the right at the signpost to Lio. After 650 meters there is a small parking area on the left side.
Walk 100 meters and go to the right and follow the gravel road to the end where the marked trail starts.
Vipps payment for the parking described in the road description.
There is also a small parking along Rv 52 at the Lio exit.
Keep track of the map and trail as there are some detours along the way.
If you are fit, it is recommended to do the hike as a round trip.
This is an easy and suitable hike for families with children and the route can be adapted to fit the group. See route description for details.
The top is called Venåshøvda, is 988 meters above sea level, and you have a good view of both Tuv and the northern part of Mørkedalen - the valley in which you started the hike.
Please note! There are grazing animals in the area, so remember to close gates and keep your dog on a leash.
